In an effort to distract Sasha from her
daily "trash the DVD shelves" ritual,
we decided to take a family drive down Mercury Boulevard.
Mercury Boulevard is a road that just happens to wind through Hampton, Newport News, Isle of Wight, Smithfield, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk and Virginia Beach
The first stop was Sasha's first trip to a giant Comic Book Superstore
You can tell by the look on her face that
she knew that this was really just an excuse for her Daddy
to look at old Star Wars action figures and X-Men comics
Then we decided to do something patriotic.
According to the History Channel, nothing is more patriotic than warfare so this place seemed appropriate
The Air Power Park has everything a little
child could ever want: real fighter aircraft, missiles and rockets,
and a children’s playground!
We drove Sasha around the park and showed her some of the planes
We felt like Kenny Loggins on the "Highway to the Danger Zone."
We were getting a picture with this fighter jet when my little Top Gun looked down and got distracted
As far as Sasha was concerned the best part about the Air Power Park was the flowers
For a while the best part was this little yellow flower in particular
Then she found a few more
Surrounded by flowers, the little peace lovin' hippie chick finally found happiness
So we celebrated with lunch at what we have determined to be the fanciest Taco Bell in America
Here's Holly and Sasha in the luxurious and well appointed dining room
No Taco Bell, it is we who Thank You! Happy Memorial Day everyone!
